Carefree
Just up the road from Desert Mountain on the edge of the Tonto National Forest, this charming village offers shopping at Southwestern galleries, quaint restaurants and an annual schedule of special events and festivals for the local community and winter visitors.

The Boulders Resort

Cave Creek
For a taste of the West, this town can’t be beat for down-home cooking and nightly entertainment at its rustic Western bars and restaurants. Try Cave Creek Smokehouse or The Horny Toad, two landmarks where tourists and locals go for barbecue, beer and a friendly atmosphere. Native American displays and prehistoric artifacts at the Cave Creek Museum will fill you in on  the history of the area. Talking Stick Resort Arena/Chase Field
Home to the Phoenix Suns, the 20,000-seat Talking Stick Resort Arena is not only a great place to take in a basketball game but a comfortable event venue where musical performances by national touring acts are staged. A few blocks away is Chase Field, where the Arizona Diamondbacks play. This stadium, with a climate-controlled environment, retractable roof and signature swimming pool, can accommodate more than 49,000 cheering fans. Both are located just 36 miles away in downtown Phoenix.

Airports
