At Desert Mountain we are proud to offer a world-class tennis facility featuring a magnificent stadium grass court, the only on of its kind in Arizona. In addition, there are five state-of-the-art clay (har-tru) courts and three fast-playing hard courts. To compliment the playing surfaces, the tennis facility features gorgeous aesthetic suroundings.
Our Tennis Center has won numerous awards, including "Court of the Year Award" from
Tennis Industry Magazine, and "Outstanding Tennis Facility Award" from the U.S.
Tennis Court & Track Builder Association.
Unique to most private clubs, Desert Mountain has a broad cross-section of players
on both a competitive and social level. There are clinics, leagues, tournaments
and special events geared toward all level of players, providing fun and challenging

women.
Director of Tennis Matt Wooldridge heads the tennis facility. Matt comes to Desert Mountain from Decathlon Club in Santa Clara, Calif., where he was the director of tennis for the past 22 years. Prior to the Decathlon Club, Matt was director, head tennis professional and club manager at Lakeridge Tennis Club in Reno, Nev. Matt is also an exceptional player himself. He was ranked No. 4 in the U.S. Men's 30's and as a professional was at one time ranked No. 2 in Southern California, No. 52 in the United States and No. 180 worldwide.
During the season we strive to provide a wide variety of different events to accommodate
all the needs of our membership. Our social events have become extremely popular;
whether an accomplished player or a beginner, an adult or a junior, our socials
provide a great opportunity for everyone to gather and have a great time. During
the summer, the always- popular Tennis Camp provides juniors with a mix of tennis,
golf, basketball, soccer, swimming and indoor activities. We are always looking
to expand the program, adding new and exciting flavors to the menu of tennis activities.
We host three annual marquee tennis events: the
Desert Classic Men's Pro Am, the
Ladies Pro Am Invitational, and the
Mixed Doubles Pro Am Invitational.
