18 Holes | Par 72 | 7,347 Yards

The Pinnacle of Desert Design

Chiricahua is a standout favorite of our Members and their guests, and features striking elevation changes that range from 3,000 feet to its highest point of 3,300 feet. At 7,347 yards, this par-72 target course has eight holes that play downhill, nine that play uphill, and one that plays sideways for an exhilarating combination. The fifth Jack Nicklaus course at Desert Mountain combines the architecture of its four predecessors and offers outstanding views of Metro Phoenix and Scottsdale.

COURSE FACT

A true masterwork of design, Chiricahua provides endless variety as it winds through the Village of Saguaro Forest to the foot of the course’s Old World-inspired Clubhouse.

Flyover Highlight

Such Great Heights

The soaring views from Chiricahua may rival those of any other course at Desert Mountain, but you’ll want to keep your head down and your eye on the prize. Your best driving game is required as the downhill, uphill, and sideways fairways are lined with thick desert plants and shrubs, almost guaranteeing an errant ball. Play for position in the fairways and on the greens instead of trying to hit your longest shot. And don’t be fooled by several carries over canyons, washes, or bunkers — the landing areas are wider than they appear.

Signature holes: #7, #10, #14, #15

Clubhouse Highlight

Passport to the Past

A meticulous reproduction of Old World Italian design, the Chiricahua Clubhouse takes its architectural cues from a traditional Tuscan olive vineyard and farmhouse. The eye-catching structure sits on a hillside at 3,300 feet and overlooks the 18th hole of the Chiricahua Golf Course with expansive city views. Exterior features include genuine mud-stacked rooftops over aged, gray stone and wraparound terraces that offer exceptional panoramas of desert sunsets and twinkling Valley lights.

Restaurant Highlight

Mediterranean Culinary Tour

Indulge in the flavors of the Tuscan countryside at Constantino’s, where you can enjoy comforting Italian classics, drinks at the hand-carved bar, and your choice of 3,000 bottles in the intimate wine tower. For something more casual, the Chiricahua Grill is open for lunch and cocktails, with a delicious menu of mezze, salads, savory bruschetta, and more. All of Desert Mountain’s 10 restaurants and grills are helmed by our Culinary Director, Chef Bertrand Bouquin, a world-renowned, French-born chef who has achieved the most coveted distinction and highest honor as a Maître Cuisinier de France.
